Position Summary
Salem Manor Nursing Home is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a casual basis. The RN will provide high-quality nursing care to residents in an assisted living environment, ensuring safety, dignity, and person-centered care in accordance with Alberta standards and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care including assessments, care planning, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols
- Monitor resident health status and respond to changes in condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
- Provide leadership and guidance to Health Care Aides (HCAs) and support staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Ensure compliance with Continuing Care Health Service Standards (Alberta)
- Promote a safe and respectful environment for residents, families, and staff
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current registration and good standing with the CRNA
- Active practice permit as a Registered Nurse in Alberta
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- nursing experience in Assisted Living/LTC preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience with electronic charting systems (preferred)
Employment Conditions
- Casual position
- Must be available for a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends)
- Required to pick up shifts based on operational needs
- Successful completion of:
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Proof of immunization (as per Alberta Health guidelines)
